Lay the Rug and Adjust Throne Height
Spread your non-slip drum rug flat on the floor to anchor your entire kit and prevent pedal creeping. Set up your drum throne so the top of the seat sits level with the top of your kneecaps when standing beside it, ensuring your hips rest slightly higher than your knees when seated.

Position Bass Drum and Attach Kick Pedal
Place the bass drum in front of your dominant foot angled outward along the natural resting line of your leg. Extend the bass drum spur legs symmetrically forward so the front hoop is elevated roughly 1 inch off the rug, then slide the kick pedal clamp onto the center of the batter-side hoop and tighten the clamp bolt.

Mount and Angle the Rack Toms

Place the bottom hi-hat cymbal onto the felt seat, mount the top cymbal inside the clutch between two felts, slide the clutch assembly down the pull rod, and tighten the clutch bolt leaving a 1-inch gap between the cymbals.

Mount the ride cymbal over the floor tom and the crash cymbal above the high tom, ensuring each cymbal rests on a plastic sleeve with one felt below and one felt above, secured loosely with a wing nut.
