📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Map the 5-Line Staff Using Your Open Hand
Hold your non-dominant hand horizontally in front of the camera with your palm facing your chest and fingers spread evenly. Your pinky finger represents Line 1 (the bottom line), while your thumb represents Line 5 (the top line). The gaps between your fingers represent the 4 internal spaces, creating an intuitive, physical replica of standard music notation.
- • Hand is held flat and level with pinky at the lowest point.
- • Four clear, distinct finger gaps are visible corresponding to staff spaces.
- • Counting lines from top to bottom instead of bottom to top.

Draw and Anchor the Treble (G) Clef Symbol
On your manuscript paper, place your pencil tip on Line 2 (the second line from the bottom). Draw a clockwise spiral around Line 2, extend the stroke upward through the top line, form a loop at the top, and drop a vertical line straight down through the staff ending in a small hook. Line 2 is permanently fixed as pitch G4 because the spiral encircles this specific line.

Write the mnemonic 'Every Good Boy Does Fine' below the staff, labeling Line 1 as E, Line 2 as G, Line 3 as B, Line 4 as D, and Line 5 as F. Make sure each notehead is neatly bisected by its staff line without spilling into the adjacent spaces.

Label the spaces from bottom to top: Space 1 is F, Space 2 is A, Space 3 is C, and Space 4 is E, spelling the word 'FACE'. Verify that your Space 1 (F) sits directly above Line 1 (E) to confirm whole-step interval progression.

Directly above Line 5 (F), draw a note sitting on top of the staff to represent G5, then add a short ledger line above it with a centered notehead for High A (A5). Ledger lines extend the musical alphabet seamlessly beyond the five standard lines.
